Birth Month Flowers: The Flower for Every Birthday

Every month has a traditional birth flower. Adding it to a birthday bouquet makes the gift personal. Here is the flower for each month, and what we pair it with.

  • January: Carnation. Try: pink carnations with white roses

  • February: Violet (or iris). Try: purple iris with lavender roses

  • March: Daffodil. Try: daffodils and yellow tulips

  • April: Daisy. Try: gerbera daisies in bright mixed colors

  • May: Lily of the valley. Try: white roses and lily of the valley in a small vase

  • June: Rose. Try: garden roses in blush and peach

  • July: Larkspur. Try: blue delphinium with white hydrangea

  • August: Gladiolus. Try: tall gladiolus in a cheerful mix

  • September: Aster. Try: purple asters with seasonal greens

  • October: Marigold. Try: orange and gold fall arrangement

  • November: Chrysanthemum. Try: mums with sunflowers and berries

  • December: Narcissus (or holly). Try: white narcissus with winter greenery

Some flowers are only in season part of the year. When a birth flower is not available, we match its color and feel with what is fresh that week.
